MONKEE MICKY DOLENZ IN HALLOWEEN
"Monkee-MICKY DOLENZ shot a cameo for the next installment of the HALLOWEEN-series with Director Rod Zombie in LA yesterday. Pic's out Labor Day. He plays 'Derrick' a gun-shop owner. Also, Dolenz was interviewed by VH1 last week for a forthcoming anniversary program (40th) on the legendary MONTEREY POP FESTIVAL in 1967. Held at the Monterey, California, the festival was planned by record producer LOU ADLER, singers MICHELLE PHILLIPS and JOHN PHILLIPS of the MAMAS & THE PAPAS. Also involved were members of The Beatles and The Beach Boys. The artists performed for free, with all proceeds donated to charity. The festival became legendary for the first major American appearance by JIMI HENDRIX, who was booked on the behest of PAUL McCARTNEY and THE WHO. Sunday night, Dolenz attends the premiere of THE HOAX; the movie starring RICHARD GERE (and, STANLEY TUCCCI and ALFRED MOLINA) about the legendary exploits of CLIFFORD IRVING, who claimed he had interviewed HOWARD HUGHES ... and, didn't, setting off a national firestorm in the astute literary world. Also, Dolenz and his band are planning a series of charity dates at Steve Walters CUTTING ROOM here in NY for charity. Details will be announced shortly."
